Lieber Martin!

An der Grösse dieses Bogens wirst Du wohl erkennen, daß ich nicht viel zu berichten weiss, was auch wirklich der Fall ist, denn von l. Hede wirst Du ja stets auf dem Laufenden gehalten, sei es - eine Heirat mit "Vor-"liebe, oder sei es das Drama: Das vertauschte Kleid auf dem Sportplatz.

Es freute mich sehr zu hören, dass Du. l. Martin, nun eine Stelle gefunden hast, und ich hoffe, dass Dir die Arbeit schmeckt + Du nun recht bald im Verein der Dollarmillionäre Aufnahme findest. Nun l. Freund, gratuliere Di recht herzlich and I wish you a happy new year. Faste gut, beiss gut an, und viel Vergnügen zum "Simchas-Thora-Ball".

Dear Martin,

From the size of this sheet you'll probably have recognized that I don't have much to report, and that really is the case, as I'm sure Hede keeps you up-to-date, be it a wedding with "preference" or the drama of the mixed-up dress on the athletic fields.

It makes me happy to hear that you, dear Martin, have found a position, and I hope the work suits you alright, and that you'll soon find yourself included in the club of dollar millionaires. Now dear friend, I congratulate you heartily and wish you a happy new year. Good fast, and much enjoyment at the Simchat Torah Ball.

¹Friedel is Siegfried Schott, born 1907. Engagement announcement from 1938, and marriage announcement from 1942 (living in Connecticut at the time). Presumably son of Markus Schott (who also sends a message here). Hilde may be Mathilde Schott (death certificate), presumably wife of Markus and mother of Siegfried.
